Our Story
Blessed Bows began with a simple problem: our founder needed modest dresses that were elegant and quality enough that she could wear them to church, but comfortable enough that she could wear them every day as a mom.
She had come to the United States from Peru, drawn by the chance to raise her family inside a church community that shared her values. Faith wasn't something she practiced on Sundays and set aside the rest of the week. It shaped how she dressed, how she wanted her daughter to dress, and what she hoped the world would say about a woman just by looking at her.
But building that life in a new country, in a new language, turned out to be harder than she expected because the clothing in the stores around her didn't reflect it. She could find plenty of pretty dresses. She could find plenty of cute hair bows. What she couldn't find was both, together, for a mother and daughter who wanted to walk into church looking like they belonged together.
So she started making the clothes herself.
At first, it was just for her daughter. Small, careful, done by hand at the kitchen table . But other mothers noticed. They asked where the dresses came from, then asked if she could make one for their daughter too. What began as one mother solving one problem for one little girl slowly became something bigger: a small, faith-rooted business built on the belief that modesty isn't a compromise you make with style, it's the foundation you build style on top of.
Why Modesty
For our founder, modesty was never about hiding who you are. It was about belonging to a faith, to a community, to a set of values passed down and worth passing on. It's the quiet confidence of knowing exactly who you're dressing for, and why. She wanted her daughter to grow up understanding that dignity and beauty were never in conflict, and that looking put-together for church could be just as joyful as it was reverent.
That conviction is still what guides Blessed Bows today. Every piece answers the question: would I be proud to wear this or watch my daughter wear this into church, and just as proud to wear it the rest of the week?
What We Believe
We believe that modesty is a belief in yourself every day of the week, not just on Sundays. We believe modest doesn't mean matronly, and faithful doesn't mean forgettable. And we believe every mother deserves what our founder was searching for all those years ago: pieces she can trust, in a style she loves, that let her and her daughter walk in together matching, modest, and unmistakably themselves.
Welcome to Blessed Bows. We're glad you're here.
